Trauma-Informed Clinical Care aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of trauma, its impact, and how to apply trauma-informed principles in healthcare settings. Participants will learn about trauma's definition, triggers, and effects, reflect on their own experiences, and understand the history and current practices of trauma-informed care within the organization. The course will cover the organizational impact of trauma and strategies for self-care, peer support, and patient care.

1. Define trauma and develop an understanding of potential triggers and stressors in healthcare work environments.
2. Reflect on how our own social and emotional experiences may influence how we show up for our self, our colleagues and our patients
3. Demonstrate an understanding of trauma-informed care and its principles and practices
4. Apply trauma-informed principles and practices to self-care, peer support, and clinical care.

Corewell Health West is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the Wisconsin Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
