Overview

Foundations of Unconscious Bias is a system required training for all team members. This training will give learners an understanding of what cultural competency and cultural humility are, and why they matter. In addition to providing practical knowledge, the training also offers valuable inspiration for improved interactions in the workplace and in life in general. Plus, this course will help learners make personnel and management decisions and understand some of the underlying causes of unconscious bias. It discusses how these biases work against building a diverse and inclusive workforce and presents techniques for helping to overcome unconscious bias in decision making. All items must be completed to receive full credit: Pre-Test Cultural Competency in the Workplace Unconscious Bias in Healthcare Post-Test Effective March 23, 2023 with the new LARA rules, this Workday eLearning course meets both the internal Corewell Health requirement for unconscious bias training, as well as the LARA Implicit Bias Training requirements per the Public Health Code R 338.7001. If you are taking this course to meet both training requirements, be sure to note how many hours you need for your license and how many hours this course provides.

2. Complete pre-test*.  

3. Cultural Competency & Humility in Healthcare Traliant eLearning Module: This training for healthcare workers gives learners an understanding of what cultural competency and cultural humility are, and why they matter. In addition to providing practical knowledge, the training also offers valuable inspiration for improved interactions in the workplace and in life in general.

4. Unconscious Bias in Healthcare Traliant eLearning Module: This course helps healthcare workers making personnel and management decisions understand some of the underlying causes of unconscious bias. It discusses how these biases work against building a diverse and inclusive workforce and presents techniques for helping to overcome unconscious bias in decision making.

5. Post-test*.

At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:
