The purpose of this education is to give providers a source of practical information in treating the elderly trauma and emergency surgery patient.

1. Identify common co-morbidities/physiological differences in the geriatric population
2. Identify common injuries/mechanisms in the geriatric patient population
3. Gain understanding of the Geriatric Trauma Service purpose
4. Review and gain understanding of commonly used medications to treat the geriatric patient
5. Gain understanding and identify mentation changes in the geriatric patient population
6. Gain understanding of mobility changes and need for the geriatric patient population

Corewell Health West is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the Wisconsin Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
