Overview
Surgical patients experience a broad range of adverse events when undergoing a surgical process. To minimize opportunities for these events, surgical team members need up to date information for assessment, intervention and evaluation to improve patient outcomes. The purpose of the OR Committee/Department of Surgery is to continually improve the care of surgical patients by educating the medical, nursing and operations staff and providing recommendations for improving processes of care.

(performance based) 2 Assess and review safety measures and precautions during surgical cases to improve patient outcomes.
