The CHW Inquiry Academy equips team members with didactic knowledge and practical experience in reviewing data, determining clinical practice questions, reviewing literature and evaluating evidence, synthesizing evidence, and creating actionable proposals for quality improvement work, evidence-based application, or a research study proposal. Participants will identify a clinical question, perform a literature review and synthesis, and create a research poster presentation that will be shared across the organization.

1. Use organizational and/or unit level data to identify relevant clinical practice questions.U
2. Recognize indications for a change in clinical practice.
3. Describe how research, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement differ.
4. Construct and implement an effective search strategy of professional literature.
5. Describe characteristics that should be used when appraising quantitative and qualitative studies.
6. Critique and rank the quality and strength of evidence.
7. Synthesize findings from literature search as they pertain to population and setting to inform clinical practice.
8. Create a project proposal for research, EBP application, or quality improvement.
9. Practice professional dissemination of scholarly work.

Corewell Health West is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the Wisconsin Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
