This educational session is an opportunity to review a pilot human trafficking initiative with evidence base interventions, local demographic data on those who are victims of human trafficking with a discussion on local resources and a review of case studies all related to the advancement in the nursing professional development.

1. The learner will understand the electronic medical records (EMR) pilot initiative, the human trafficking recognition and response policy algorithm, and the supportive resources to assist in screening patients.
2. The learner will be able to describe the local demographics of human trafficking victims and community resources for those who are victims of human trafficking.
3. The learner will be able to identify signs of human trafficking and apply them to case studies.

Corewell Health West is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the Wisconsin Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
