Caregiver Peer Support Online Training Modules

AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (1.50 hours), Non-Physician Attendance (1.50 hours)

This activity includes online modules licensed from Christiana Care which teach the basics of peer support. Peer Supporters for the Clinician Peer Support Program must complete this training and the corresponding online training modules to become a peer supporter. In the live training, the concepts of peer support are taught which include: introduction, invitation, active listening, reflection, deepen inquiry, reassure and support, and resources. To reinforce the concepts, a number of simulations with example cases are completed with observation and feedback. In closing, key resources and scenarios are reviewed.

2. Describe the benefits and key components of peer support
3. Review the key skills of peer support
4. Understand how to refer individuals to additional resources for help if needed.
