2021 School Nurse Professional Development- School Staff Training & Care Planning

School Nurse Professional Development on Standardization of School Staff Training, adherence to AHA CPR guidelines and program expectations, and introduction to school nursing care planning principles.

1. Identify rationale for the standardization of school staff training across the districts served.
2. Describe overall staff training structure and roles and responsibilities of the school nurse in staff training
3. Review Medication Administration PowerPoint and Med. Administration Kit to become familiar with content/flow
4. Review Emergency Medication PowerPoint to become familiar with content/flow
5. Review MERT Training PowerPoint to become familiar with content/flow
6. Understand rationale for standardization of CPR training and expectations
7. Adopt and use standard work for medication and acceptance in districts starting 2021-2022 school year
8. Discuss foundational school nursing care plan concepts and differences between MMP, EAP, and IHP
9. Demonstrate understanding of objectives learned throughout the day
