Overview
This 1.25-hour CH Unconscious Bias 301 course is a healthcare specific course that explores ways to foster LGBTQIA+ inclusion, explores religion and spiritual beliefs and their role in healthcare, looks at generational diversity, and how our unconscious biases influence the way we make decisions. We learn how unconscious biases can impact teams, patients, health plan members and the communities we serve. This course will equip team members with the knowledge, skills, and capacity to manage unconscious biases to remove barriers, reduce disparities in health care, foster respect and inclusion, and improve health equity. This course meets both our internal Corewell Health unconscious bias training requirements and is also LARA compliant for licensure. This course provides learners with the following learning outcomes: • Ways to foster LGBTQIA+ inclusion in healthcare • Exploring religion and spiritual beliefs and their role in healthcare • Looking at how generational diversity influences the workplace and patients

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Explores ways to foster LGBTQIA+ inclusion
  2. Learners are taught the impact inappropriate conduct can have and how inclusive work relationships help the team succeed
  3. Learn the importance of treating everyone with respect and how making assumptions can hurt and how to be an ally.
  4. Gain an understanding of the role of religion, spirituality and beliefs in healthcare an explanation of its associated positive effects
  5. Learn some practical tips for making the workplace more inclusive of religious and spiritual expression
