Cold Turkey: Acute Withdrawal Management in Substance Use

This activity will cover the basic physiology and withdrawal management of commonly misused substances in the community. This is intended to provide overview of current evidence and supportive care in common scenarios and should be tailored to each patient uniquely.

1. Describe the pathophysiology of stimulant withdrawal
2. Provide an overview of typical stimulant withdrawal symptoms and describe any medical interventions for withdrawal management.
3. Describe the pathophysiology of opioid withdrawal
4. Provide an overview of typical opioid withdrawal symptoms and describe any medical interventions for withdrawal management
5. Describe the pathophysiology of alcohol withdrawal
6. Provide an overview of typical alcohol withdrawal symptoms and describe any medical interventions for withdrawal management.
7. Provide Case Studies to facilitate viewer learning
